Kate Baker SBDC
Kate Baker is a Certified Business Advisor with the Small Business Development Center at the University at Albany. In her role as a Business Advisor, Kate has works directly with clients to establish, grow and expand their businesses providing individualized business consulting services. In addition to her work with clients, Kate is responsible for executing the SBDC, UAlbany’s training programs, served as the SEED Program Coordinator and works on the center’s special projects. In her 12 years with the SBDC, she has been recognized as a top 5 Business Advisor statewide 4 times. Her specialty areas include general business development, business mentoring, marketing plan development, procurement and certification assistance, crisis management, financial management, and customer service. Kate frequently presents business and entrepreneurial development seminars on a variety of topics for chambers of commerce, economic development and community organizations. Prior to joining the SBDC, Kate was a corporate troubleshooter for a national hospitality company for 15+ years. She was actively involved in her family’s small business for 23 years and has an Associate’s Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Paul Smith’s College and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Plattsburgh State.
